Privacy Policy for CONVO Church App

CONVO Church operates the CONVO Church mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information when you use the App. By using the App, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on how you use the App and which features you access.

Information you provide directly
We may collect:
  • Name or display name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Password or authentication information
  • Church membership or group information
  • Profile photo
  • Messages, comments, prayer requests, or other content you submit
  • Event registrations, attendance information, or volunteer information
  • Information you provide when contacting us for support
  • Any other information you voluntarily submit through the App

Information collected automatically
When you use the App, we may automatically collect:
  • Device type, operating system, and app version
  • Unique device or app identifiers
  • IP address
  • Mobile network and general location information
  • App usage, diagnostic, crash, and performance information
  • Log data, such as access times and features used
  • Push-notification tokens and notification preferences
We do not collect precise geolocation information unless the App clearly requests permission and you authorize that collection.

We may receive information from third-party services that you use to sign in or interact with the App, such as:
  • Google Sign-In
  • Apple Sign-In
  • Facebook Login
  • Church management or membership systems
  • Payment processors
  • Analytics, crash reporting, or messaging providers

2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
  • Create and manage user accounts
  • Authenticate users and secure access to the App
  • Provide church communications, content, events, groups, and services
  • Process registrations, donations, purchases, or other transactions, where applicable
  • Send push notifications, service messages, and communications you request
  • Respond to questions and provide customer support
  • Personalize App content and features
  • Monitor, maintain, and improve the App

  • Prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and other harmful activity

We will not use personal information for purposes materially different from those described in this Privacy Policy without providing appropriate notice or obtaining consent when required by law.

Church administrators and authorized personnel
If the App includes church directories, groups, events, volunteer coordination, prayer requests, or similar features, certain information may be visible to authorized church staff, administrators, group leaders, or other users according to the App’s settings and your actions.
Before submitting information, review the audience or visibility settings provided in the App.

Legal and safety purposes
We may disclose information if reasonably necessary to:
  • Comply with applicable law, legal process, or governmental requests
  • Protect the rights, property, or safety of users or others
  • Investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or violations of our policies
  • Detect, prevent, or address technical or security problems
  • Protect the church or the App from legal liability

4. Payments and Donations
If you make a donation, purchase, or payment through the App, payment information is processed by Rebel Give. We do not receive or store complete payment-card numbers unless expressly stated otherwise. Payment providers process your information under their own privacy policies and terms.

5. Push Notifications
With your permission, the App may send push notifications about events, messages, announcements, reminders, or other church-related information.
You can disable push notifications through your device settings or the App’s notification settings. Disabling notifications may prevent you from receiving certain communications.

7. Children’s Privacy
The App is intended for use by church members and families.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without legally required parental consent. If you believe that a child has provided personal information improperly, please contact us at info@convochurch.com. We will take reasonable steps to investigate and delete the information when appropriate.

8. Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to:
  • Provide and maintain the App
  • Maintain account and transaction records
  • Resolve disputes and enforce agreements
  • Prevent abuse and maintain security
  • Comply with legal, tax, accounting, or reporting obligations
When information is no longer needed, we will delete it, anonymize it, or securely dispose of it, subject to applicable legal and operational requirements.

9. Account and Data Deletion
If you created an account, you may request deletion of your account and associated personal information.
You may request deletion through either of the following methods:
  • In the App: Go to [Settings → Account → Delete Account]
We will process verified deletion requests within 7 days, unless retention is required by law or reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or other legitimate purposes. If we must retain certain information, we will limit its use to the applicable purpose and delete it when the retention requirement ends.
Deleting the App from your device does not necessarily delete your account or information. Use one of the account-deletion methods above.

10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
These measures may include access controls, authentication, encryption during transmission, secure hosting, monitoring, and regular review of our systems. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

11. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your information
  • Request a copy or portability of certain information
  • Restrict or object to certain processing
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
  • Opt out of certain communications
  • Submit a complaint to a data-protection authority
To exercise your rights, contact us using the information below. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
You can unsubscribe from nonessential email communications by using the unsubscribe link in the message. You may continue to receive necessary service-related communications.

12. Third-Party Links and Services
The App may contain links to websites, services, or applications operated by third parties. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or security of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing information.

13. International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed or stored in countries other than the country where you live. Where required by law, we use appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version in the App or on our website and revise the “Last updated” date above.
If a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will provide additional notice when required by law.
